Local Citizens Urged to Spay and Neuter Pets and Community Cats
GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA, FEBRUARY 22, 2011
SNIP SNIP HOORAY! February 22 is SPAY DAY! No More Homeless Pets will participate in SPAY DAY, a national awareness day to promote the life saving benefits of spay/neuter surgery during our SNIP-A-THON at OPERATION PETSNIP on February 22, 2011. The clinic is located at 4205 NW 6th Street in Gainesville, FL. Please call 352-376-6647 for your reservation.
“Our goal is to spay and neuter 50 animals on February 22. We hope to end the euthanasia of pets as a method of pet overpopulation control by being proactive and offering low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter service,” says Sandi Richmond, Executive Director of No More Homeless Pets.
“Spay/neuter protects pet health, improves pet behavior, and saves money for pet owners, animal shelters and taxpayers” says Dr. Randy Caligiuri, Medical Director for Operation PetSnip. “We are inviting our citizens to sponsor the spay or neuter of at least one animal in honor of Spay Day 2011.”
This year marks the 17th annual Spay Day. Since Spay Day’s inception in 1995, participants have altered an estimated 1,418,500 animals in the United States. No More Homeless Pets, Operation PetSnip is a high-volume, high-quality low-cost spay/neuter clinic. The cost of surgery to fix your pet is only $40 for cats and $60 for dogs. Operation PetSnip has spayed and neutered over 5,000 pets in just over oneyear, thanks to our compassionate community.
The mission of No More Homeless Pets is to end the euthanasia of companion animals and feral cats through sterilization, education and community involvement.
